amateurillustrator.com
AmateurIllustrator.com was started in the summer of 2006 by two illustration students at the University of Lincoln (in the East Midlands of England.) During the first year of our degree we came up with the idea of building an online web portal for illustrators and students of illustration. We wanted it to be a place where anyone could come and upload their drawings and images for others to look at and critique, and would also include many other features such as: • interviews with professional illustrators • tutorials and tips • an ‘Illustration News’ section • an ‘illustration of the week’ feature • a personal gallery section where illustrators can create their own online portfolio • a forum for people to chat, exchange ideas and post their work and work in progress • a public gallery organised by medium so that someone wanting to look at or upload lots of images done, in say, pen & ink would be able to do so easily • contests now and again with small prizes • We also hope to add more and more features as the site grows
Beth Berst-Gregory
Beth Berst-Gregory In a very old house, in a smallish mid-western town not too far from the skyscrapers of Chicago, lives a girl named Beth who likes to make pretty pictures. Beth graduated from the American Academy of Art in 2000, and has since spent her days (and nights) painting and illustrating. After spending the last 7 years working at an ad agency, a start-up dot-com, and as an in-house designer, she is working on pursuing her interests in fine art and freelance illustration. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, hiking and fixing up her 117 year old home with her husband Chad and Blaine the dog.

Ghostco
Matthew Woodson was born and raised in rural southern Indiana. At a young age he developed a fascination for natural history and the elegant simplicity of silent moments and small deaths. He then moved to Chicago to attend The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, where natural history was non-existent and silent moments / small deaths were few and far between. After graduating in early 2006 Matthew still lives in Chicago, in an apartment full of original hardwood floors, taxidermy, and a cat.

Scott Waters
There are paintings of a military society which is utopic, violent, sad, sad and beautiful. You might also enjoy the small photography project about commercial airliners and science and faith. And of course those cute little birds and their varied backgrounds.
Zoe Mendelson
I create intricate drawn and painted dreamscapes often occurring on walls, inside antique furniture and museum-style cabinets. With conflicting roots in children’s illustration, botanical and erotic drawing, these dislocated narratives play off intimations of desire with sensations of discomfort.
